  • 6th grader enrolled in a private Christian academy in the southern region of the US
  • Classified as learning disabled
  • Parents sought an evaluation through Fit Learning due to concerns about Bryan’s pervasive skills deficits in reading, spelling, math, critical thinking, problem solving, and expressive writing.
  • He was also struggling psychologically at school and had begun to withdraw from school, friends and family.
  • A comprehensive evaluation was conducted, which included Reading, Math and Logic skills.
    • Results indicated that Bryan’s skills deficits in all academic areas could be traced back to the early primary grades.
    • Bryan was performing in the lower quartile (i.e., 30th percentile or below) at the 3rd grade level across all standard reading, spelling, comprehension, math, and expressive writing assessments.
    • Together, these results indicated that Bryan was more than 3 years behind in all academic areas.
  • Bryan was withdrawn from his current school placement and enrolled in a full-day homeschool placement with Fit Learning Online.
  • Following one year of online Fit Homeschool:
    • Bryan achieved fluency on hundreds of foundational reading, spelling, math, comprehension, grammar, and expressive writing skills.
    • He gained 4 grade levels across all academic domains in one year of Fit Homeschool.
    • At the end of his homeschool year, he was performing in the middle to upper quartile (50th to 99th percentile) on 7th-grade-level standard academic assessments (as compared to Intake where he performed at  the lower quartile on 3rd-grade-level standard academic assessments).
  • After his homeschool year, Bryan returned to his previous school placement for 7th grade.
    • By his 8th grade year, he was enrolled in all honors-level classes.
    • For 9th grade, he was accepted into an elite New England boarding school where he achieved high honors in his first semester.
