Parents shouldn’t have to teach at night! 🥵

“Discovery-based” instruction dominates schools, which entails teachers doing a lot of talking with few opportunities for students to participate. Sadly, this method ignores the well-established scientific principle of learning that students must actively respond to instruction and receive ongoing feedback.
As a result, most students do not effectively learn in the classroom, which puts parents in the position of having to teach their children academic concepts at night – a ludicrous requirement! Would we accept being required to fix our car ourselves after taking it to a mechanic? Sounds pretty ridiculous right?
We NEVER expect our parents to do our job for us! We use Direct Instruction when teaching academic concepts, which entails clear, concise presentation of rules, active responding by the learner, and immediate feedback provided by the Learning Coach. The result? All of our learners truly master academic concepts, enabling them to independently apply these concepts during classroom and homework activities.
