Each skip counting sequence was practiced in isolation until it became fluent. This activity simply checks whether those fluent skills can be combined and used in a more complex way.When foundational skills are automatic, learners can switch, adapt, and problem solve without getting stuck. Parents are often told that a learning disability Parents are often told that a learning disability diagnosis explains why their child is struggling in school. But most of the time, a diagnosis simply gives the struggle a name. It doesn’t explain what went wrong or how to fix it.Testing shows what a child can and can’t do right now. It doesn’t tell us why those skills are weak. That’s an important difference.Many kids struggle because certain skills were never taught clearly or practiced enough, not because they are unable to learn.
